Driveway is made up of an excavation of approx 250mm deep. A sub base of granular stone (MOT Type 1) is laid to a depth of approx 150mm and consolidated with a vibrating roller.
A screed of sharp sand is then laid at approx 50mm and consolidated. The desired blocks are then laid into the sand to the required/desired pattern. Once all the blocks are laid a silver sand is then swept over the entire area and consolidated filling all the gaps.
All depths are dependant on the use of the drive and footpaths.
*Some form of edging should always be used as a retainer for the materials*
This is a job in Enfield using marshals tegula random paving.
